I have reason to suspect that sometimes whena key is hiton a PC keyboard
it sometimes produces a scancode for itself and a neighboring key at the
same time. This sometimes causes typos on the net. It might be causing
that left shift thing, though that doesn't explain why it doesn't happen
in DOOM or DUKE3D. It might alsoexplain this window swap difficulty, if
there is a function key for compiling that is near F6. Does F5 or F7
invoke the compiler, or make? If that is the case, it's likely a lot of
keyboards have these glitches, and since it causes a time consuming
operation to start that doesn't seem to want to abort for at least a
minute or two, it might be good to move it to a function key not adjacent
to any key commonly used while editing source during the editing phase of
the edit, make, debug cycle.
