The numbers are merely version numbers.  txi390b.zip is a newer
version of the same software.  The only reasons old versions hang
around are:

1. Someone forgot to delete them.
2. The new versions are still being tested, so the old ones are "just in case"

There is a lot of information there, but if you find links from it
that are broken, try searching the mail archives to see if someone has
reported a new link.

You only need to unzip what you need.  The FAQ and README.1ST describe
which you need.

If you want true portability, try adding "-ansi -Wall" to your compile
lines.  This will restrict your to ANSI stuff in the header files and
complain if you use other functions.
