Doesn't this say enough?  If LaTeX complains about this, it means it 
cannot set some of its environment variables right.  I woudln't expect it 
to work correctly after that.  Would you?

You need to investigate why are you out of environ space and correct the 
reason, then you can test whether Bash gets you into trouble.
