Hi,
    at the top of boot bios prom of a 8088 that is in 
hex ffff:fff0 there are some pointers.  The very top 4
bytes is the start up vector.  The other 12 contain the info
I think you need.  I you look at some of the bios calls
which usually exist as c function calls you may find one
that returns what you require.  I guess it's not changed
too much with the processor updates.
