So if CLK_TCK really is > ANSI, then maybe this is a bug. CLK_TCK is not ANSI. It is POSIX, and it is obsolescent. You're supposed to use sysconf(_SC_CLK_TCK) instead. ANSI defines CLOCKS_PER_SEC for the resolution of clock() values.
