Well, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the example you
posted.

Likely the problem is that you're doing something much more serious, and
the problem is not with printing, but rather something that is being
done to the string(s) before printing.

What you should do is shrink the problem down to the smallest
reproducible case, and then post that.  Hopefully the reproducible
problem should be no more than a few screenfuls.  Do _not_ post your
huge program.
