I don't want to go into too verbose an explanation, because there are
many different functions that use masked drawing modes and I'd rather
not have a huge mass of text explaining each one. Do you think people
would understand better if I called it magenta instead of pink? Strictly
speaking the secondary colors are yellow, cyan, and magenta, so it isn't
100% correct to call it pink at all, but I thought (foolishly? :-) that
more people would understand pink than magenta...
