i think you should consider using a 32 bit c compiler
that is designed for dos and/or win95.
be prepaired to pay for it though.
for me, a beginner trying to learn c++, djgpp is the
best platform thier could possibly be. it is free,
has a couple very good ide's, is capable of writing
any kind, size, or complexity, of program, such as
the game Quake, and has a great community of experts
willing to help, only a mailing list post away.
i doubt i could buy an educational tool this good.
