I read in Computing or Computer Weekly magazine, recently, that intel
were scrapping the MMX range of chips. They plan to have got rid of all
there MMX chips before the end of this year.
I have no idea what Cyrix or AMD are planning on doing though!
I think you could still use the MMX instructions, as I understand it the
instructions enable MMX machines to process them, and also machines
without MMX can still process them. Dont know how, or why. Its just what
ive heard on my travels.
I personally think that you should use MMX instructions on a 3D engine.
But what do I know, right!
