Hi,

First I would just like to thank Peter, Stefan and Bjorn...for

helping me out with regards to loading BMP's.
I never expected such a quick response, and from so many people!

What you guys are telling me is to get ALLEGRO, which basically takes

the 'donkey-work' out of developing your progs. Thing is though, I

had already downloaded alleg from one of Shawn Hargreave's

recommended sites, but to my utter dismay, couldn't get it to work!

As far as I can see, I have installed DJGPP correctly, with it's

working environment settings in AUTOEXEC.BAT etc. Alleg, came in one

Alleg30.zip file, which I also unzipped in Dj's directory. But when

I use any of alleg's functions, it complains bitterly, that it can't

find this and that!! It seems to me (after much hair-pulling/

chain-smoking investigations!!) that I am missing the LIBALLEG.A

file.
So I donwloaded it again from a reputable site, and it wasn't in the

zip either! If some kind person, could PLEASE send me this file (or

tell me where to find it), I would be forever grateful!!

Once again, thanx for your time.
It's nice to know there are nice folk out there, who don't mind

sharing their knowledge with us dazed & confused newbies!

Regards,
J. de Villiers EMAIL: devilj AT hotmail DOT com
