it is hex by changing the line

That's actully a bug in the docs rather than the code (ie I intended it
to take both decimal and hex).  That said, if you think it should only
take hex (seems reasonable to me), I will put your mod in my source.

BTW there's still a nasty bug in sio_write even in my source (doesn't
write:), but sio_put works as advertised.  I'll probably be working on
it over the weekend.
