The latest version of allegro supports the VBE/AF extension to VESA 2
mode via an additional FreeBE/AF driver.

My graphics card reports that it already has VESA 3. Do I still need the
FreeBE/AF driver or are the extensions already part of VESA 3?

There is a test program with allegro that allows me to check video modes
(I forgot the name of the test program). This program seems not to
recognize my VESA 3 card.
