Try
FILE *f = fopen( "foo.dmp", "wt" );
fprintf(f, "Blablabla.\n");

or (outside your program)
redir -eo -o foo_dmp your_program

or (outside your program)
bash
your_program >foo.dmp 2>&1
exit
