If you check back in this thread you'll find that Caldera
did release the source code to DR/Novell/Open DOS for a
brief time and then closed it again. I believe they
intend it for use in embedded systems and so do not
want to release the code again.
It would be nice to find out what level of independence
IBM has with respect to Microsoft concerning DOS. If
Microsoft maintain all rights to it then hoping IBM would
release the source would be futile but if they have a
looser arrangement this could be a possibility, especially
as IBM is pro Open Source.
