Are you using a Matrox board?

Don't know, I guess the problem is in W98, no matters what a DOS program
could do the OS should restore the video mode. I think the drivers of the
board have a huge bug in the BIOS service used to restore the saved state.

I doubt it.

If you are interested in fixing it, till now nobody with this problem
showed interest, just tell me.
