You might want to take a look at

XFDISK is a freeware extended FDISK plus a bootmanager
that works much like LILO and is installed quite easily.

I used it quite some time and met no problems whatsoever.

(I now use BootMagic simply because it came with PartitionMagic,
which I needed to move/resize partitions after adding a new HD to my
PC).
