I finnally worked out how to get pipes back in dos, edit C:\config.sys [1] Remove device=C:\windows\command\display.sys con=(ega,,1) and Country=044,850,C:\windows\command\country.sys (or similar lines if yours differ slightly, should probably backup the file first ...) [2] Reboot ... bingo ... pipes come back :P [3] Re-add the lines you took out and reboot - wierdly .. you will still have dos pipes :P - beats me, works though.
