IMHO, Emacs would rule if it could be set up to use the
KEYbindings from Macs (sans E). (Ctrl+Z undo, Ctrl+X
kill selection, Ctrl+C copy selection, Ctrl+V yank, etc.)
or the MesS-DOS Edit bindings (Alt-Bksp undo,
Shift-Del kill selection, Ctrl+Ins copy selection, Shift+Ins
yank, etc.)

So would SETEdit work for me?

The DOS Emacs I tried did. In the Command shell,
C:\DJGPP>mode,50
gives an 80x50 screen. Then open Emacs.
The same trick worked in MesS-DOS Edit.
