The largest memory size for which I've seen reports is from the OS/2 DPMI host: a whopping 512MB. Windows 9X seems to allow close to what is physically installed, but AFAIK nobody tried to see what it does on a 4GB machine. You might also try 386Max, at least ask the vendor what is the maximum they provide.
