Huh? Where did you see Emacs map Backspace to the HELP function? Not
on DOS/Windows, because it doesn't do that. It is probably some vague
memory from some ancient Unix or VAX terminal. Please elaborate.

Please post some measurements to back up such claims, and please tell
what other serious programmer's editor do you know of that uses
significantly less memory.
