I would like to see the full error message printed when you try to run
a floating-point program after setting 387=n.  Please post that here.

Please also post the contents of your AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS,
and the output of the command "set" typed at the DOS prompt.

It is supposed to force the startup code to load a floating-point
emulator.  Do you have a file emu387.dxe in your `bin' subdirectory?
